Alan Lane was fourteen years old when he finished writing his first novel. He was born in Staten Island, NY. At the very young age of three, he became interested in books, which his sister would often read to him.
Writing began for him in the second grade, and soon there after he was writing short stories. Throughout his younger years, he would always scribble down his ideas on paper, and these eventually cultivated into short stories.
Having moved to a quieter atmosphere in upstate New York, he became more interested in writing his first full novel.
Alan was thirteen years old when he began writing Beneath the Light. He incorporated some of the characters that had previously been in some of his short stories, such as the protagonist Sesily, among many others. Thus, the multitude of colorful themes, ideas, and characters were all brought together. He would write down any ideas that came to him, and when he got home, he would diligently work to put his thoughts to the paper.
